چکیده

Nanoparticle (NP) applications have recently gained more space in the development of many products, especially cosmetology. The aim present study was to validate a single particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry technique for detection and quantification gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) ions (Au (i)) different cosmetics currently marketed Brazil. size limit pure AuNPs 22 nm, concentration 2.3×106 particles g?1 achieved. total 0.02 µg L?1 obtained standard mode conditions. recovery achieved 98% dissolved Au 109% AuNPs; relative deviation <5%. This validated method applied cosmetic products (n = 10) from national international industrial producers. Most analysed contained quantifiable amounts (< 0.005-2.1 g?1) only four variability results detected LOD – 9.3 × 108 g?1). that greatest amount these metallic NPs were artisanal products. demonstrate importance adequate quality control ensure consumer safety

Single Particle Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

Nanotechnology is an emerging and rapidly growing field whose dynamics and prospects pose many great challenges to scientists and engineers. Nanoparticles are being used in many materials and products, including coatings (on plastic, glass and clothing), sunscreen, antimicrobial bandages and clothing, MRI contrast agents, biomedical elemental tags and fuel additives, only to name few. However, ...

Quantifying Thiol Ligand Density of Self-Assembled Monolayers on Gold Nanoparticles by Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry

Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) are often used as colloidal carriers in numerous applications owing to their low-cost and size-controlled preparation as well as their straightforward surface functionalization with thiol containing molecules forming self-assembling monolayers (SAM). The quantification of the ligand density of such modified GNPs is technically challenging, yet of utmost importance for ...

Quantitative characterization of gold nanoparticles by field-flow fractionation coupled online with light scattering detection and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

An analytical platform coupling asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation (AF(4)) with multiangle light scattering (MALS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) was established and used for separation and quantitative determination of size and mass concentration of nanoparticles (NPs) in aqueous suspension. Mixtures of three polystyrene (PS) NPs...

Liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

The technique of coupling liquid chromatography to inductively plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is reviewed. A brief introduction to the ICP-MS instrument is given as well as methods to couple the two analytical instruments together. The various types of LC that have been used with ICP-MS detection are discussed and advantages over traditional methods of detection are highlighted, such as the ...
